Comprehensive Capital Campaign
Timely Solutions: HIS 2010-2016 $6 Million Comprehensive Capital Campaign
The HIS capital campaign goals are extensions of our yearly operational needs and build on our ongoing initiatives and services. The comprehensive nature of this fundraising campaign means that HIS can continue to meet the annual expenses of our mission while also refining and expanding our care services and options.
The HIS Board of Directors has defined six campaign goals to help secure the future and expand the reach of our organization for the next seven years. Each of these goals is a solid investment that immediately influences the well-being of the HIS community and the scope and magnitude of service that we are able to provide. We appreciate your taking the time to explore these critical initiatives and the unique giving opportunities connected with each.
6 Campaign Goals for 7 Years of Service
While HIS would not exist without our volunteers, our professional staff provides the knowledge, consistency and organizational structure to carry out the HIS mission. Additional professional staff must be recruited and secured to meet the needs of the community and to most effectively utilize the HIS volunteer base. Over the next seven years we plan to increase care to reach 30%-50% more of the uninsured. Professional staff, both existing and new, will be instrumental in providing the leadership to support this goal.
In combination with labs that must continue to be executed at partner facilities, the acquisition of lab equipment and on-site (CLIAwaivedTM) lab access will do much to augment and centralize HIS care. Our volunteer physicians will have instant access to a range of diagnostic tools and patients will benefit from fast lab results that help expedite their treatment and return toward health. On-site lab service also significantly reduces wait time and overall costs.
While prevention has always been a part of the HIS model, an intentional prevention initiative will do much to maintain the overall well-being of our patients. HIS patients have shared a need for a safe environment for exercise and learning that is supportive and accessible. Our wellness goals address these needs and provide a critical foundation for healthy living education and choices. When healthy living is improved, everyone benefits.
While HIS strives to be a full-service health care provider, patient needs can sometimes extend beyond our scope of services. We value our ability to identify and connect patients with low-cost or cost-free community medical options but occasionally needed evaluations and treatment are too expensive for a patient to acquire. The patient assistance fund has been established as a designated account to provide for exceptional care needs. HIS uses this fund only after our search for all other community options and resources has been exhausted.
With the goal of increasing technical capability for medical recording, scheduling and reporting, HIS will partner with other medical service providers to implement electronic medical charting and records. Many of our volunteer physicians and nurses are acquainted and comfortable with electronic medical systems from their experience in hospitals and other medical offices. This initiative includes the purchase and initiation of hardware and software, as well as ongoing IT support.
Regular upkeep is needed for our 11,000-square-foot building for it to continue to serve as home base for the HIS mission. Over the next seven years we also hope to pay off our mortgage and accomplish specific space-enhancing renovations, including the creation of a physical therapy space, a larger nurses’ station and counseling and teaching spaces.
HIS is pleased to offer numerous avenues for partnership in our Comprehensive Capital Campaign. This range of supportive options includes:
- Estate Planning
- Endowment
- Employer Matching Gift Programs
- HIS Club 365: Healing HIS People
